Opening Reception to be held Feb. 27, 2025, from 6 - 9 pm.
Grounded is an interpretation of the landscape through people’s interactions and experiences.
Holly’s art practice is inspired by seeing the forest for the trees, striving to look beyond physical details of her surroundings, abstracting objects and light. She captures the experience of place rather than its most accurate representation, so that the viewer can interpret how they see or experience the work.
Relying on form and value, Holly draws on memory to create the impression of a known object or place and its meaning. Abstraction is used as a way of communicating memory and association so that the viewer becomes a part of the conversation.
