This exhibition by esteemed Manitoba Artists integrates the works of Robert Bruce and Keith Wood. Esteemed in our city, our country and beyond their artwork is found in corporate and private collections. Bruce's collection focuses on the period 1950s-1970s many of which have not been previously showcased; they range from coloured ink drawings of the Canadian Shield or S. of France, to a body of his evocative, humorous monotypes. Wood's collection demonstrates the shift from his abstract minimalist paintings prior to 2006 when he found his love of the encaustic medium. The integration of their work has been a Curator's dream. I am humbled by this experience and by the energy transmitted in our rooms, holding space for these artists who have passed but are still present through their legacy.
