Steadfast by Sue Gordon
For better and for worse, painting is the way l move through the world. Painting allows me to explore my own psyche's response to world events and to this entire age of anxiety. The many layers of encaustic (wax) paint are like layers of memory and history in all of us, sometimes obscured or blunted by the passage of time.
Changing Light by Aliana Au
The works in Changing Light were created over several years and were primarily inspired by my love of the prairies and my experience living in them. I have always been fascinated by the prairie landscape: its vast open horizons, its distinct weather, its pure light-each of which creates its uniquely poetic mood. Manitoba has long been my chosen home, yet I am still learning about myself and my place in it. I am grateful for the opportunity to live and work in this wonderful land.
