Dean Bauche receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Lifetime Achievement Award for Soul Gallery artist Dean Bauche.

On May 31, 2019 Dean Bauche was honored with a Lifetime Achievement  Award by the Museums Association of Saskatchewan for his outstanding work and contribution as curator of the Allen Sapp Gallery and Director of Galleries for the City of North Battleford SK.

Over the years Dean’s contributions to furthering the work of museums in this country included consecutive terms on the boards of both the Saskatchewan and Canadian Museums Associations as well as extensive work developing a Human Resource Strategy for the museum sector in Canada.

Dean’s lead role in the award winning national touring exhibition “Through the Eyes of the Cree, The Art of Allen Sapp” and curating the same exhibition into the Canadian Museum of Civilization’s exhibition “Acres of Dreams” are two of the highlights of his public career.

Dean now resides in the Cypress Hills of SW Saskatchewan as a full time artist and cultural consultant. He spends three months a year running a special “Art of Belonging” program for the L’Arche community of Comox Valley on Vancouver Island.
